NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

For the first time, Charlie Sheen, the star of Platoon, Wall Street, Major League, and Two and a Half Men, writes the story of his extraordinary life in an unfiltered memoir.

“We can live the stories or hear about them later from others. I choose the former.”

Charlie Sheen should not be alive to write this book.

But in The Book of Sheen, the movie and TV star, who has defied the odds, finally presents his story, in his own words.

Charlie Sheen was born the third of four children to actor Martin Sheen and his wife, Janet. He grew up on film sets—from his father’s all over the world, to his own in Malibu. There he made ambitious Super 8s, with a roster of friends who went on to become household names themselves, including his brother Emilio, Sean and Chris Penn, and the Lowe brothers.

Sheen broke into movies in the 1980s, playing a hoodlum in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, a young soldier in Platoon, and an ethically compromised trader in Wall Street. But somewhere along the way, despite a successful transition to TV leading man in Spin City and Two and a Half Men, Sheen descended into a vortex of extracurricular activities.

Now sober, Sheen delivers a clear-eyed narrative of his highs and lows with humor, candor, and a vivid, captivating writing style that is uniquely his. The Book of Sheen reads like a far-fetched, overstuffed novel of Hollywood life—yet it is all true.

Charlie Sheen is one of the most courageous people I have ever seen. To be able to air all of your deepest, darkest secrets takes true courage. God Bless you Charlie!

Loved the book! Charlie lets us all in on such an adventurous life story! Well written, I felt like I was right there with him! I only wish he would have expanded more on his fallout from Two and a Half Men, I would have liked to have known how he was feeling at that time!(I think he probably has enough material to write another book if he chose to do so.) I’m glad he is sober now and enjoying his life into the future with his family! Stay strong Charlie!

Fantastic read from beginning to end. The use of humor and incredible detail really painted each story and scenario and gave you a real glimpse into who he really was at all stages of his journey through life.

What a life. Color me jealous! Does not disappoint. Everything you think seems to be in here. He would have been my all time hero if he didn’t get the HIV virus. He seemed to get away with everything, but he got caught there at the end. Cheers Charlie

Hooked me from the very beginning as I read through his eventful childhood and his transition to adulthood and stardom. The rest of the book is almost like somebody else’s autobiography in the way that the tone shifts, and that made it so interesting to me. Very well written. But riveting. A great read if you were ever a fan or like a good bio!

Wow, is there anything he missed, lucky to be alive. He was fortunate to have someone around to take (or try to) take care of him. Good book, sorry he got caught up in all that junk, but the one part in the bathroom made me laughed. He was a good actor, if he wanted he should be given a chance for a comeback.

Brian Wilson, who knew? Could probably write a second book of what he didn’t want to reveal. Would have liked to hear more about his Dad’s relationship with him during the lean years
