Description

A drunken wedding forces sworn enemies to play newlyweds until fake turns dangerously real. Kate wakes up with a pounding headache, a diamond on her finger, and a six-foot-three problem named Luca Leone. Billionaire. Ex-playboy. The man she’s argued with since they met. He proposes a deal: stay married long enough to convince the world he has moved on from his ex, and he will save her family’s home from financial ruin. No feelings. No complications. Just legal paperwork and luxury photo-ops. Except Luca’s touch short-circuits her common sense. His protectiveness feels too intimate. His kisses feel like promises. She knows better than to fall for her enemy. Yet every night in his penthouse tells a different story. What happens when a revenge marriage turns into a love she can’t walk away from? Tropes: billionaire, enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, fake relationship, penthouse proximity, grumpy/sunshine, sinful tension

It’s been along time since I’ve read a book without skipping pages in one day. This book was very good. Interesting and realistic. Funny but exasperating all at the same time. Great read.

I read almsot the entire book, but I started readin between the ines, skiping sections and feeling bored towards the end. I like the overall premis. 2 individuals who dont like eachother. They fall for eachtoher slowly, but bicker through the entire time. Some of the things I don’t like about this book is the ages fo the characes. I think both charcters are too young to even marry. The heroine is 24, fresh ot of college and working a minimum wage job. The male lead is 27, born into a rich family, and has a bar. He is kind of a jerk throughout the book. He has redeeming qualities, but overall I can see why the female lead does not like him. He sounds elitist on several occasions and is just rude about about Cate’s wardrove and religion. Eventually they come together but I was just bored. The sex scenes are too long and frequent and it interferes with the story.

It was a fair story line. But it was so choppy I had to keep going back to see if I missed something. Which was annoying. And the ex girlfriend was hokey. I admit to rolling my eyes more than once. Maybe better editing would have helped. It wasn’t horrible. And it was free so there’s that.
