I can only imagine this book being inspirational to floundering youths. The book lacked depth. I was sadly disappointed considering the amount of high ratings it has received. If you want to read an inspirational book and fully understand 'a hero's journey', read something by Joseph Campbell. The repetition of Coleho was nauseating. How many times was "personal legend" written?

One of those rare books that will stay with you for a long, long time.....it should be a part of everyone's library

NEVER DID I REALIZED IT UP UNTIL NOW! I have been severly blinded by capriciousness. Now I can and am able to see that LOVE is within me :D and the greatest LOVE OF MY LIFE IS CHRIST MY TRUE WONDER OF LOVE! Here I will stay becuase I LOVE GOD! And it took this book that I’ve read numerous of times until now I get my own personal legend is not what I obssessed of but the TRUE LOVE I’VE ACHED FOR IS WITHIN ME! I LOVE ME! THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL TIMES! AND GOD IS IN ME! JESUS IS WITH ME! “OF WHOM SHOULD I FEAR IF GOD IS WITH ME?” JESUS IS WITHIN ME AND I TRUTHFULLY NEED NOTHING ELSE BECAUSE WITH JESUS ROOTED WITHIN MY SOUL I ALREADY AM RICH IN THE HIGHEST PUREST OF THE HIGHEST OF LOVES : JESUS IS LOVE AND I AM LOVE ! I NEED NOTHING MORE! NOW I AM CURED OF ALL ILLNESSESS ! NOW I AM HAPPY AND I SET MYSELF FREE FROM MY OWN LOATHE! AND IT TOOK THIS LITERATURE TO HELP ME SEE WHAT BEFORE I COULDN’T SEE! I TRUTHFULLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE AUDIOBOOK! IT’S WORTH READING ALONG THE LITERATURRE WHILE YOU LISTEN MR. COELHO’S AUDIOBOOK! There are alot of books that dont catch or keep my attention but this on did it. a friend brought book to work and i read about half of it between my tasks at work. i have bought this book about 4 times each time lending it out so other can experience it. not lending out my digital copy O_O lol

The story told in the alchemist is one that is relatable not through its tangible details but rather its underlying message. There is an alchemist waiting for all of us and this story teaches that instead of waiting for one we must actively seek out our destiny because life does not last forever.

I love this book and recommend this book for young adults and old people.

Probably the worst book in all eternity. If you want to literally rip your eyes out in disgust, then buy the book.

When I first started reading this book I hated it! I thought it was so boring and dumb and I dreaded reading it. But once I finally got into the book it was so good! This is also a very inspirational book.

I rarely read a book twice, but I will be reading this one again. There were so many spiritual nuggets that I know I missed a few.

This book has truly helped me develop a mindset to bring in the new year. I now realize that it's not about riches, but evolution. Everyone has a personal legend, and we all need to discover it! I don't look at this story as philosophy, but actual understanding of life.
