Description

Never trust an assassin.

Celaena's story continues in the second book in this complete, #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, author of the Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series.

Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become the King's Champion. But she is far from loyal to the crown. Though she goes to great lengths to hide her secret, her deadly charade becomes more difficult when she realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. Her search for answers ensnares those closest to her, and no one is safe from suspicion-not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a princess with a rebel heart.

Then, one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena's world shatters, she will be forced to decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie . . . and what she is willing to fight for.

The second book in the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series returns readers to a land destroyed by liars, where one woman's truth is the only thing that can save them all.

Other books in this series include:
Throne of Glass
Heir of Fire
Queen of Shadows
Empire of Storms
Tower of Dawn
Kingdom of Ash
The Assassin's Blade (prequel novellas)

"Crown of Midnight" is a fantastic follow-up to "Throne of Glass," delivering everything I loved about the first book and more. Diving deeper into Celaena's world and witnessing significant character development was a true joy. The entangled relationship between Celaena, Chaol, and Dorian is so compelling – complicated, bittersweet, and yet so clearly rooted in genuine care and affection. The emotional depth of their interactions truly resonated. ...And yes, Nehemia is an absolute gem; her presence will be deeply missed. This installment has only solidified my love for this series, and I can't wait to see where the story goes next. It's easily becoming a favorite!

I just couldn’t keep my attention with this one. And I HATE the way the story went with my two favorite characters. I couldn’t even finish it.

This was a great follow up to ToG and talk about a massive twist at the end. The second half of this book is all gas and I couldn’t put it down.
