    And the ending was anticlimactic.

Stunned. My reaction to the culmination was total shock and a feeling of total betrayal. I’ll say no more on my feeling. Craftily written and suspenseful with a few bread crumbs tossed to the astute reader which made the outcome both predictable and yet completely shocking.

Once you start reading Conclave you won’t want to put it down. All the names within are difficult to pronounce as they are Italian, Spanish, Asian, and African but the pronunciations you attach in your brain are known only to you, right or wrong. As a Roman Catholic I found inspiration and nearness to the Holy Spirit. But all people will find a closer walk with their God. Enjoy!

Engaging from page one. Great characters, well researched, and a plot for the ages. I’m glad I read it. It’s the best novel I’ve read in a long time.

The pace is fast and the book deliver insight into this important institution for millions of people, and gives an appreciation of the papacy for me as a non catholic.

Even as an agnostic I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The history and ceremony of the Catholic Church is fascinating
